My idea for my portraiture module is to take photos of friends and family and show their personality through these photos. As part of my first photoshoot in the studio, i chose 6 photos to edit for the final 6 of the first shoot out of four. It was hard to decide on the 6 photos but i was able to pick and then edit them. In this post i will be reflecting on these chosen photos and my photoshoot.

What i liked about this photo was how the lighting has created a shadow over the leg of the subject in the left corner and I also like how the subject is looking in to the lens and addressing the viewer. I feel as though this was a successful shot, where i have used lighting. As part of the editing i have cropped this photo down making it hard for a mast-head of a magazine to fit on the photo. Next time I will make sure i step back more so that there is more space at the top of the photo.

This photo is similar to the first photo however the model is posed differently and they are more "front on" to the camera. For this photo I have a similar layout of lighting in this photo as I have in the first photo, where the source of lighting is to the right of the model and slightly above, once again creating a shadow. The use of a chair has made the portrait more intense, especially with the viewer staring in to the camera.

In this photo the model is stood up and posed, this has made the photo more interesting because they aren't just standing straight and looking in to the camera. What i like about this photo is how the subject is central. For this photo i have used two sources of lighting which can be seen because there are no shadows being created and the models face is well lit.

What i like about this photo is how it is candid shot and you can see the happiness of the model. I took this photo whilst the model was listening to their own music, allowing them to then become more relaxed and helped me to create more enjoyable and "fun-looking" portraits. When editing this photo, and others, i have brightened the photo to bring out the white of the background more.

I like the fact that it feels like the model is walking towards the camera, this is another pose which has helped to make the portraits have a more relaxed look.I like this approach towards portraiture as it helps to show my idea of photographing friends and family as i want to show their personality in the photos.

This is one of my favourite photos from the photoshoot, what i like about this photo is how the model isn't looking in to the camera, this has helped to create an intimate moment. I also like how the shadow in the photo sits across the subjects face, creating an intense atmosphere and even more of an intimate moment. To create this effect i had one light and a black "reflector" to make the shadows more intense.
