For my studio portraits I plan to take photos of friends and family people in the studio. I will use different lighting to demonstrate this idea and the lighting techniques. Below i have included some photography research of portrait photos and information on the lighting used.
Platon:
I like these photos taken by Paton because of the way intense lighting has been used to light the subjects. It looks as though Paton has created this technique from photographing well known names such as the people in the photos above.
In Platon's studio photos you can see that he uses a hard studio light. In most of his photos it looks like he has used several lighting sources. These could potentially be right in front and slightly above the subject being photographed. There may also be a source of lighting hitting the background as it is very bright. It looks as though this lighting technique is very popular for him to use. However, the photo in the middle has used a different technique to light it, this may include using a lighting source behind the subject to create a spotlight. As well as the lighting, Platon has also framed his subjects well, by using close-ups, mid shots and angles looking up to the subject, usually shown to represent subjects deemed powerful, in this case it may be politicians.
