AD5805: Documentary Film Proposal

I want to focus my documentary projects on sports and the benefits of mental health. I have gone with this idea as I have started to get in to sports photography more and would like top explore this throughout second year. I will be looking in to the benefits as this is a positive look on to the topic of mental health and it will be easier for me to find people to interview if it is a more positive subject. I will begin looking for people to interview and get clips of by going through the different sports teams that we have here at the university. I want to explore a range of sports and genders to show the benefits of all sports on everyone. I plan to attend a few sessions of training/ the teams playing to get a feel of the clubs and the atmosphere of them.

60 - 90 second documentary

In this documentary i will focus on 1 sport as there wont be much time to cover a lot. I will interview about the club and see it to make people want to join. I will cover the basics of the benefits of mental health in this but this wont go in to detail just yet. I will get an interview with a team player or management of the team and then B-roll clips of just the general set up of training for that specific club.

3 - 4 minute documentary

This will be the longer documentary which will cover more of the benefits to mental health. I will showcase a few different sports in this one but not too many as i want it to flow and i want the interviewees to have enough time to say what they want. Similar to the shorter documentary i will also be showing B-roll clips of the actual sport, this way people can see the team members enjoying themselves and the sport.

Research

As part of my research i will look in to the sports and i will watch short documentaries. This will give me an idea of what i want to show and how i would like to produce my documentary. I will ensure i'm doing this frequently, including when i am editing the documentary. I also plan to
