Ken Grant, Shankly:

Ken Grant is a photographer who, since the 1980's, has focused on the working class people in the Liverpool area. One of his photo projects, known as "shankly" focuses on football and the fans of it. This is relevant to my own work because i have been looking in to specifically the fans of football clubs. I have chosen Ken Grants work to look at because, like my work i have wanted to show part of the football culture.

The Differences between mine and Ken Grants work is that there is a historical difference due to his photos being taken in the 1980's. This could be be significantly different due to the social aspects, where things where more acceptable such as the smoking being a common theme in some of the photos and more litter being seen. Other differences will include location as these photos are being taken in Liverpool which can be obviously seen with the Liverpool merchandise and there will also be technical differences due to camera kit being different in the 1980s as it is in 2022.

Below i have shown some of the photos from this project. In some of these photos you can see a similar style of photos to the previous photo projects I have looked at such as Tom Woods photos, however, Ken Grant has also kept to a style of his own by using interesting angles and just showing the game day from different points of view. What i like about his photos is how the football culture has beens shown and almost feels chaotic through his photos.
