AD5807: "This Fan Girl"

Photographers Amy Drucque and Laura Blake look in to what it is to be a female football fan and produce a photo project on this showing different woman as football fans. When starting the photo project they looked in to female football fans on google and wanted to break the stereotype.

“We were so excited when one of our images got into the Google search results - we’re starting to break through the wall of images of low cut, tight tops and inject some reality.”

The photo project is a set of portraits showing woman of different ages at football games in the club merchandise. I will incorporate the use of portraits in to my work to show the different supporters at football games so that i can have a mix of different photos and people. The project focuses on wanting to break the stereotypes of female football supporters, going against the male gaze theory.
