Toby Binder; One year, One Club, One photographer:
Toby Binder is a photographer who focuses on working class life through developing long form documentary photo projects. He mainly has an interest in post-war, crisis situations and daily lives of people, however the photo project that i am looking at focuses on the German Bundesliga Football club in the season of 2012 to 2013. He has focused on "behind the scenes on the pitch" and "Being close to the team, the supporters and the staff".
Toby Binder shows the different scenes behind football, showing crowds, emotions, the game and the involvement everyone has in the game. This is different from the other projects i have looked at as he is showing all of these elements but making it feel like they are all part of the team. Below i have included some of the shots that aren't of the fans to help show examples of how he has made the all seem as though they are part of one big club. This can also be felt through showing the behind the scenes of the club itself, making nay fans who look at the work feel like they know the members of the club themselves.
As well as this Toby Binder also focuses on the the fans of the club. Showing different perspectives where he has "zoomed out" showing all the fans but has also gotten close to the fans, showing their expressions during a game. Which is what i like about his work that he is producing because you feel like you are in the crowd with fans. Below i have included his photos of the fans.
