AD5808: Fay Godwin

Fay Godwin is a landscape photographer who takes photos of the countryside and looks in to ideas of the human impact on the environment. Usually her work is related to ideas on the "romanticising" of the British landscape however, "as a socialist and active environmentalist, Godwin makes the land in her photographs reveal traces of its history, through mankind's occupation and and intervention".

What i like about Fay Godwin's photos is how she has made the landscape look calm and given it a recognisable aesthetic. I have looked at her work because i looked at her ideas behind the photos, this relates to my ideas because i am looking in to the human impact on nature. I am looking in to this at a different angle to the photographer where i am looking at the obvious impact of what the humans have had on the nature.
