Blank Space:

Kwasi Boyd-Boudlin is a photographer who focuses on urban landscapes. Blank space is a photo project taken by Kwasi Boyd-Bouldin where he focuses on African American neighbourhoods. The photo project is taken throughout New Orleans, Brooklyn, Harlem and Los Angeles. He looks in the the treat of gentrification of the areas, meaning that the wealthy could take it over.

Kwasi Boyd-Bouldin says "i've been photographing the landscape in my native Los Angeles for over a decade and witnessed first hand how gentrification can erase all traces of a communities culture" he then goes on to say "I began this project to create a visual record of black neighbourhoods throughout the country in an effort to document a bit of what life is like in these often underrepresented areas".

These photos above have been taken from the project. What i like about these photos is the simplicity of them and the focus on the buildings. You can see evidence of what has been said by the photographer in the photos as he has been preserving the original looks of the buildings by taking this photo series. i I will use similar techniques of photographing buildings as i will look into new and old housing estates i will be looking in to the similar ideas of gentrification on the towns as newer more expensive housing estates are being built.
