One of the photographers i have been looking at is Sebastião Salgado, who looks at similar ideas relating to human impact but however he changes it slightly looking in to areas of 'untouched nature' that is still left. I have been looking in to his work as a comparison to my own, showing a similar message but however in a different way. This is a project called Genesis and it is the photographers ode to nature which spans across 8 years.

Sebastião Salgado has decided to show what remains of 'untouched' nature because his project Genesis is based on a "a quest for the world as it was, as it was formed, as it evolved, as it existed for millennia before modern life". What i like about his photos is that his photos feel calming and have a sense of "innocence" to them. This is something that Sebastião Salgado was aiming to show in his own work as said by him.
"So many times I've photographed stories that show the degradation of the planet. I had one idea to go and photograph the factories that were polluting, and to see all the deposits of garbage. But, in the end, I thought the only way to give us an incentive, to bring hope, is to show the pictures of the pristine planet - to see the innocence."
I think that his work portrays what has been said here because the photographer has focused on what would be seen as beautiful and picturesque. In my own work i am looking to where these picturesque places have been "ruined" theough new builds and just any builds.
