Sharon O'Neil photographs a 60 year old post war housing estate. Her photo essay looks in to a black of flats, looking in to the inside and the outside of flats. The project includes her own photos and archived photos of the building including the photo below taken by Bill Tooney, 1956. The use of archives helps to support her project as she is able to look in to how the place has changed and been adapted for 21st century living.

The photo below on the left is a photo taken by Sharon O'Neil of the block of flats and the photo on the right is an archive. The photographer has used both of these to show the changes and similarities between the places overtime. Having the comparison is important to the project by Sharon O'Neil. A lot of her project also focuses on the insides of flats which wont relate to my project as i will be focusing on the outsides of the buildings. This will be as i am focusing on the impact of humans building on different landscapes. I could use Sharon O'Neil's idea of using archived pieces of work by trying to look for these while doing research in to the areas i plan to take photos of. This will help to support my project as i will be able to see in any changes in the landscape. This will especially help when i am taking photos of new housing estates as i can look in to how the landscape looked before the houses were being built.

Bill Toomey's Photo below is of the Fitzhugh Estate. What i like about this photo is how the building has been framed with the landscape. I will attempt to use a similar technique to take photos of the buildings as i will want to have the whole of the buildings seen in the photos. I will further research in to other photographers with a similar style of photography of buildings.
